Stop creating fear and panic about healthcare delivery - patients and relatives warned

The Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital has observed the persistent generation of panic regarding healthcare delivery within their facility, particularly during cesarean sections and other surgical procedures.

In a press briefing, Rev. Dr. Isaac Appiah, the General Manager of the Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital, lamented how patients' relatives disseminate false information about surgeries and cesarean section activities to the public, which occasionally diminishes public confidence in the health facility.

He admonished patients and their relatives to refrain from such behavior, stressing that it is legally impermissible to disclose others' health status publicly. He emphasized that surgeries entail numerous certainties and uncertainties, hence relatives of patients must abstain from inciting panic concerning healthcare delivery.

Reverend Dr. Isaac Appiah emphasized that inducing panic within a healthcare facility can have significant repercussions. Consequently, patients and their families are required to sign an agreement with the institution before the patient is transported to the operating theatre for surgical procedures or cesarean sections

He elaborated on unexpected incidents that occur during pregnancy and childbirth, which are not attributable to medical errors but rather to natural phenomena beyond the control of healthcare providers. According to the general manager, these natural occurrences can lead to disabilities and other underlying health condition which cannot be blamed on Healthcare providers.

He surmised that much occurs within surgical services that can occasionally result in the loss of life, among other outcomes, while underscoring that doctors are consistently vigilant in delivering quality healthcare. However, acknowledging the human fallibility of these doctors, he implored families and relatives of patients to temper the intensity with which healthcare providers are scrutinized when errors arise.
