The Dormaa  Ramadan conference, hosted by Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West district of the Bono Region, brought together prominent leaders to discuss key issues affecting the Muslim community. Sheikh Zackalia Ibrahim, Dormaa Municipal Chief Imam, appealed for Arabic teachers to be employed in Islamic schools, highlighting the importance of education in the community.

Sheikh Ibrahim also touched on the issue of Farmer's Day celebrations, which often fall on Fridays, exempting most Muslims from participating. Furthermore, he emphasized the need for the swift passage of the anti-LGBTQ+ Bill into law, echoing the sentiments of many in the community.

In addition to addressing these pressing concerns, Sheikh Ibrahim announced the upcoming Ramadan date, a significant development for the Muslim community.

Dr. Sheikh Ameen Bonsu, CEO of Ameen Scientific Herbal Hospital and Welfare Officer of the National Hajj Board, also spoke at the conference. He highlighted the need for equal treatment of Muslim students in schools, emphasizing that while Islamic schools accommodate everyone's religious beliefs, Muslims often face unequal treatment.

Dr. Bonsu called on President Mahama to address this issue, promoting religious coexistence and ensuring that Muslim students receive fair treatment.
